Entry 38: Armanda Gorman in the Biden inauguration...

Armanda Gorman - in the Biden inauguration. Read her poem hear her poetry we all need to hear. The Hill We Climb - but while democracy can be periodically delayed, it can never be permanently defeated. In this truth, this faith we trust. While we have our eyes on the future, history has its eyes on us. The power to author a new chapter to offer hope to ourselves. So while asked How can we prevail over catastrophe? Now we assert How could catastrophe possibly prevail over us. We shall not march back to what was but move to what shall be. A country that is bruised but whole, benevolent but bold, fierce and free. We won't be interrupted by intimidation knowing our inaction and inertia will be the inheritance to the next generation. Certain if we emerge mercy with might; then love becomes our legacy, our blunders become their burdens and change our children's birthright. So let's leave behind a country better than the one we were left - We'll raise this wounded world into a wondrous one. Hope isn't asked of others, it's something we demand from ourselves.
