 Holy week- reenact and relive the suffering of Jesus in The Way of the Cross. Easter the culmination the promise of newness and life. Realizing the horror and magnitude of sin and its consequences in the world incarnated in the dying Jesus on the cross. Contemplating the despair on Holy Saturday. Except for the resurrection Holy Thursday- one of the most important, complex and profound days of celebration. In the last Supper Jesus offers Himself as the sacrificial lamb and institutes the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist teaching the apostles and their successors follow the same sacrifice in exactly the same way. Here He instituted the sacrament of holy order the priesthood . This 1st Mass Christ stresses the importance of humility of service and servant leadership celebrated yearly with priest washing the feet of 12 parishioners. Think? holy week ends on Good Friday. Not understanding the importance of Holy Saturday- a day of reflection and sorrow. Meditating on our life motivating us to strengthen our faith reaching out, sharing our talents and blessings with the poorest of the poor.
